About Poland for skiing holidays and snow boarding

The south of Poland is a beautifully picturesque area with hills and the Tatra mountains. Still undiscovered by many skiers from outside, apart from Russians who arrive in their thousands.

The facilities are good with snow for longer in the mountains. There is a good choice of ski slopes with tows, places to snow board and cross-country skiing.

skiWhere the Poles ski

The Poles also head south to ski. Zakopane has the highest ski slopes and ski jumps for the more professional skier. It's also quite touristy and busy but good for a lively evening out at one of the bars or restaurants. Enjoy drinking warm mulled wine or hot chocolate with whipped cream on top in one of numerous cafes and restaurants in Zakopane HIgh Street.

There are chair lifts, cable cars and a rack and pinion railway to the tops of mountains such as Gubalowka in Zakopane and nearby towns such as Szczawnica.

Lots of places to ski in southern Poland

You will also find lots of other places to ski in the south of Poland, may much quieter and more relaxed than in Zakopane, with ski hire, ski lessons and a greater variety of slopes.
